A reed shaken by the wind?<\/span> <sup>8<\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"red-letter\">But what did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft <em>clothing?<\/em> Those who wear soft <em>clothing<\/em> are in kings&#8217; palaces!<\/span> <sup>9<\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"red-letter\">But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one who is more than a prophet.<\/span> <sup>10<\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"red-letter\">This is the one about whom it is written,<\/span> <br \/><span class=\"nasb-indented-break\"><\/span><span class=\"red-letter\">&#8216;B<span class=\"small-caps\">EHOLD<\/span>, I <span class=\"small-caps\">SEND<\/span> M<span class=\"small-caps\">Y MESSENGER<\/span> <span class=\"small-caps\">AHEAD OF<\/span> Y<span class=\"small-caps\">OU<\/span>,<\/span> <br \/><span class=\"nasb-indented-break\"><\/span><span class=\"red-letter\">W<span class=\"small-caps\">HO WILL PREPARE<\/span> Y<span class=\"small-caps\">OUR WAY BEFORE<\/span> Y<span class=\"small-caps\">OU<\/span>.&#8217;<\/span> <br \/><sup>11<\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"red-letter\">Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen <em>anyone<\/em> greater than John the Baptist! Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.<\/span> <sup>12<\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"red-letter\">From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men take it by force.<\/span> <sup>13<\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"red-letter\">For all the prophets and the Law prophesied until John.<\/span> <sup>14<\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"red-letter\">And if you are willing to accept <em>it,<\/em> John himself is Elijah who was to come.<\/span> <sup>15<\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"red-letter\">He who has ears to hear, let him hear.<\/span> <\/p><p><sup>16<\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"red-letter\">&#8220;But to what shall I compare this generation?
